Pistons, GM Jeff Bower parted ways

As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Detroit Pistons and GM Jeff Bower have parted ways. This news comes as no surprise, considering that Bower was a favorite of former head coach Stan Van Gundy. With Bower now out of the picture, assistant GM Pat Garrity is expected to receive a promotion, according to Vincent Ellis of Detroit Free Press. 

Amid a regime change, Detroit and GM Jeff Bower have parted ways, league sources tell ESPN. Bower has been a GM for two playoff franchises, as well an an NBA and NCAA head coach.
