Spurs reportedly held a players meeting where they implored Kawhi Leonard to return
Leonard has only played 9 games in this season
The situation around Kawhi Leonard and his quadriceps injury is getting weirder every day. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Spurs players held a players-only meeting after Saturday's night win against the Minnesota Timberwolves in which they literally implored Kawhi Leonard to return to the lineup for a playoff push. Tony Parker was the one that pushed the most during the meeting, according to Wojnarowski.
Several Spurs players expressed confusion and frustration around Leonard's situation, that led to a growing tension inside the team. Leonard has only played 9 games so far in this season and despite reportedly have received the medical clearing from the doctors is still unsure about his return to the court. The player will be available for a max contract extension this summer and will be an unrestricted free-agent in Summer 2019.
