Larry Nance Sr asked Cavs to un-retire his jersey no.22 and give it to his son
Larry Nance jr chose jersey no.22

With his dad's No. 22 retired, Nance Jr. took No. 24, while Jordan Clarkson, who was traded from the Lakers along with him, chose No. 8, an obvious nod at Kobe Bryant. But, it turns out Nance Sr. actually wants his son to wear his number, and he even called the Cavs and told them to un-retire it.
Nance Sr. said on Golic and Wingo:
"Well, it really wasn't a conversation because as soon as he called me and let me now that he got traded here, I called the Cavs and said, 'He can have the number. Please, give him the number.' And I think he was calling, saying, 'My dad deserves to keep that up there.'"
