“Dear Basketball,” the film adaptation of the Lakers legend’s 2015 retirement letter published in The Players’ Tribune, was announced Tuesday as among this year’s Oscar nominees for “Best Animated Short Film.”
Bryant released the film at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival in April, which was based around will the poem he wrote to announce his retirement titled, Dear Basketball. Bryant also narrates the short.
