Cavs wanted KD out of the game in 1st quarter for 2 technicals. KD: They didn't want to win that way

Durant on the Cavs' ejection pleas: 'They didn't want to win that way'

NBA
Kevin Durant risked to be ejected from the game against the Cavaliers early in the first quarter for two technical fouls.
Kevin Durant picked a technical for complaining with referees over a three-pointer. And a few minutes later he bumped Jose Calderon who made a foul on him.
But the referees did not throw KD out of the game.

Per ESPN, "Man, I understand that's a part of the rules, but they didn't want me out the game," Durant told ESPN after the Warriors won 99-92. "They didn't want to win that way. It meant nothing to me. Technically, they were trying to get me to get tossed. It wouldn't have felt the same if they would have gotten me tossed and they would have won that game. So, I moved past that. It wasn't serious."

Even though Durant was in a vulnerable situation, he said he didn't fear an ejection.
"Hell nah. They're not tossing me in the first quarter," he told ESPN. "They're not tossing me in the first quarter over a little bump. And I heard Isaiah Thomas and Tristan Thompson talking to the ref [to toss me out]. You can ask [Dwyane Wade], [LeBron James], Kevin Love, them dudes, they didn't want me out the game at that point. I wouldn't want them out the game. That's not what it's about.
"We're trying to have some fun and hoop out there and that's what we did."
