Jusuf Nurkic won't sign an extension before the deadline, will become a RFA next summer

Trail Blazers' big man Jusuf Nurkic won't sign an extension with the team before October 16th deadline and will become a restricted free-agent next summer. Nurkic has been an important factor in the second half of the season for the Blazers last year.

The Trail Blazers are already in luxury tax, so they don't want to spend other money on Nurkic's extension right now but they prefer to wait next summer and deal with his restricted free agency.
