Cavaliers reportedly held talks with Richard Jefferson's agent

The Cleveland Cavaliers have 16 guaranteed contracts for next season. And they have to decide which player to waive or trade in order to start the season with 15 contracts.

Per Cleveland.com, Multiple sources told cleveland.com that the Cavs held early talks with Jefferson’s agent about the roster situation and the possibility that Jefferson doesn’t stick, but no decision has been made. Jefferson makes $2.5 million this year. Frye makes $7.3 million would be too expensive to cut, but he could be traded. Jefferson’s contract for next season is not fully guaranteed and Frye is in the final season of his deal.
