Enes Kanter's next step is to become an American citizen
Kanter had a press conference from Manhattan
Enes Kanter organized a press conference today once he returned to the USA after being detained in a Romanian airport because Turkish government voided his passport.
Per The Oklahoman, Kanter's next step? Become an American citizen, he said.
"I'm open for adoption," Kanter joked.
Thank you for all those people who supported me," Kanter said at the end of the conference call. "I’m playing basketball in front of millions of people, that’s why I’m here now.
"But there are thousands of people getting killed, raped. It’s really sad to see all this. My friends’ family are in jail. I hope the world is watching this. I want people to do something about it. A lot of people are awaiting help. (We need to) Definitely do something against the Erdogan government. I love Turkey, I love my country, but I’m just trying to speak up and be the voice of the innocent people.”
