Amar'e Stoudemire on retiring as a Knick and not as a Suns: 'I went where I was wanted'
He made an interview with Paul Coro

In a long interview with Paul Coro of Arizona Republic, Amar'e Stoudemire explained why he decided to retire as a Knicks player and not as a Suns player. Stoudemire signed a one-year contract with the Knicks two days ago and then he immediately announced his retirement from the NBA:
"The last two years, we made phone calls to Phoenix but I wasn’t getting any positive response,” Stoudemire told azcentral sports on Thursday. “That would’ve been the perfect way to go out. I didn’t want to beg Phoenix. My heart was in two places – Phoenix and New York. I just went where I was wanted"
