Leandro Barbosa on his longevity: 'I take a medicine for horses'
Brazilian guard explained his secret
Leandro Barbosa is 33 years old and has played 13 seasons in NBA. After a 2013 knee surgery, it looked like his career in NBA was over. But Barbosa fought back and won an NBA title with the Warriors, coming off the bench and providing scoring and quickness. His secret of longevity? A medicine for horses:
"It's a medicine you give horses," the Brazilian-born Barbosa said. "Whenever they get hurt, it helps them recover very quickly. Because they have to run."
Festus Ezeli tried that elisir but it was kind of disgusting for him: "I almost threw up," Ezeli said. "That's one of those things where I need to know scientifically that it really works for me to keep doing it. Because it's disgusting."
