Knicks almost acquired Kyle Lowry back in 2013, the player said it was a 'done deal'

During an interview with Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today, Raptors point-guard Kyle Lowry said that back in December 2013 he was very close to the New York Knicks. The Raptors and the Knicks had agreed to a deal that would have sent Metta World Peace, Shumpert and a first-round pick to Toronto in exchange for Lowry.

"The deal was done," said Lowry. "At the end of the day, the decision was made for me to be here and it worked out equally, perfectly for both parties"

Dolan was afraid of losing another trade to Masai Ujiri, who was on the other side of the Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani deals.
