Thanasis Antetokounmpo may return to Europe if he doesn't sign in NBA
Thanasis Antetokounmpo is unlikely to play one more season in D-League
Thanasis Antetokounmpo is ready to return to Europe if he is not signed by the Knicks.
Per NY Post, Now the Knicks are weighing their options, depending upon how the draft unfolds. A source told The Post recently they would love to gain an extra pick — in either round — beyond their fourth-overall selection.
Antetokounmpo’s Greece-based agent, Nick Lotsos, said the Knicks aren’t ready to enter negotiations yet.
“They’ve said right after the draft they’ll be ready to talk. They’re very busy now,’’ Lotsos told The Post. “So we’ll have a better feeling after that. But now I don’t have an answer for you.’’
Lotsos said a couple of European teams have inquired, but he has put them off until he knows the Knicks’ plans. If Antetokounmpo isn’t signed, Lotsos said his client would consider a European payday instead of going back to the D-League.
Of course the Knicks could deal his rights on draft night as they look at trade scenarios that include swapping their first-round pick.
