Carlos Arroyo disappointed with latest NBA trades
Galatasaray's ex NBA veteran playmaker shares his thoughts on latests movements around the league
Former NBA veteran point guard Carlos Arroyo, with nine seasons in the league under his belt, recently expressed his disappointment with the latest NBA trades and transactions across the association.
"I was a little bit disappointed to be honest," Arroyo, a star playmaker from Turkish side Galatasaray said last night following a Euroleague loss to his former club Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Since entering the NBA in 2001, Arroyo played with the Toronto Raptors, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. Over the last two seasons the Puerto Rican native has been hooping in Turkey where he won the local championship, state-cup, and EuroChallenge-competition title.
"I follow everything NBA-related because I was part of the NBA family, so I always try to keep up with what goes on. My disappointment overall in the latest signings was because there were a lot of expectations for certain moves to go down but they didn’t. I think a lot of teams could've made better moves and used more help down the road," he added.
When asked if one of those "better moves" meant the return of the 34-year-old 6-foot-2 guard to the NBA, Arroyo laughed and said, "No. However, if a possible NBA opportunity presents itself I would consider it. For now, I'm happy with Galatasaray."
