Los Angeles D-Fenders reacquire Zach Andrews
The player started the season in Italy
The Los Angeles D-Fenders have reacquired forward Zach Andrews, it was announced today.
Andrews, who most recently was a member of Sutor Montegranaro (Italy), originally joined the D-Fenders as an NBA Development League local tryout player in 2011. A 6-9, 230-pound forward out of Bradley University, Andrews appeared in 44 games (42 starts) last season with the D-Fenders, averaging 9.3 points (64.7 FG%) and 7.3 rebounds in 25.4 minutes. Andrews also helped the D-Fenders reach the 2012 NBA D-League Finals, averaging 2.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in seven postseason games (6 starts). Moreover, the Sacramento native’s production earned him All-NBA D-League Honorable Mention honors along with an All-Star Game selection and entry into the Slam Dunk contest.
Andrews will be available to play when the D-Fenders take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (NBA Affiliates: Charlotte, Detroit, Indiana, Milwaukee) at 7pm on Wednesday, January 16th at Toyota Sports Center.
