Knicks assign Jeremy Lin and Jerome Jordan to Erie BayHawks

The New York Knicks today assigned guard Jeremy Lin and center Jerome Jordan to the Erie BayHawks, the Knicks’ NBA D-League affiliate. The assignments mark the 23rd and 24th time that NBA players have been assigned to their NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season. It is the first assignment for Jordan while Lin returns to the NBA D-League following two assignments last season.
Lin (6-3, 200, Harvard) has appeared in five games for the Knicks this season, scoring five points, dishing out two assists and grabbing two rebounds in 15 minutes. During the 2010-11 season, he averaged 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 29 games with the Golden State Warriors. As a Warrior, Lin was assigned to the NBA D-League’s Reno Bighorns, where he appeared in 20 games and averaged 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 31.7 minutes.
Jordan (7-0, 240, Tulsa) is averaging 1.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 4.8 minutes in six games for the Knicks this season.
Both players are expected to be available when the BayHawks return to action on Friday, Jan. 20 to face the Maine Red Claws in Portland, Maine.
