The Erie BayHawks have welcomed back their star forward from 2008-09, Erik Daniels, who averaged 21.1 points and 10 rebounds per game during the team's inaugural season. Daniels, added to the team's ten-man roster today, is taking the roster spot vacated by guard Garrett Temple who was signed by the Charlotte Bobcats.
Daniels (6-8, 215) did it all for the BayHawks two seasons ago. He led the team in scoring, rebounding, assists (4.5) and minutes played (40.5). Daniels was named to the 2008-09 NBA Development League All-Star team and had the team's only double-double in the franchise's first-ever playoff game (15 pts, 11 assts) in a loss to the eventual champion Colorado 14ers.
Daniels, a University of Kentucky graduate, was most recently playing overseas and is returning to Erie by way of league rules that allow teams to retain the rights of former players for up to two years. Daniels will be in uniform when Erie faces the Springfield Armor on Tuesday morning at 11 am for the team's third annual School Kids Jam game.
