Lake Michigan joins the ABA

Last week, the American Basketball Association announced the addition of the Lake Michigan Admirals to the teams scheduled to begin play this December in the fast growing league. Joe Newman , ABA Ceo, stated: 'In 2008, Chris Glisson , the owner, and his brother Marty 'Doc' Glisson put together the Knoxville Thunderbolts which made the ABA playoffs in their inaugural season ranking 8th in the ABA Power Rankings. Two of their players were named to the ABA All-Star team, and the team was Nominated for Franchise of the Year, and Doc was nominated as Executive of the Year. So, when Chris said he wanted to do a team in Southwestern Michigan, we were thrilled.' The team will be called The Lake Michigan Admirals which was the winning entry in a contest that included local community participation. The organization is owned an operated by the Lake Michigan Sports Entertainment Group, LLC. Chris Glisson will be the CEO.
