Rio Grande Valley: Acquired former Los Angeles D-Fenders big man Rashid Byrd (7'0''-C-81, college: E.Oklahoma St. JC) and waived Stanley Asumnu (6'5''-G/F-82, college: Tennessee) due to injury. The 7-1 Byrd appeared in 19 games for LA this season before being waived in January. He averaged 4.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in just under 16 minutes per game. In his Vipers debut on Wednesday he scored five points and swatted five shots in eight minutes. Asumnu, a valuable reserve for RGV, played in 47 games this season and was averaging 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 55.0% from the field.

Austin: Signed former Albuquerque Thunderbirds guard Fred Gibson (6'4''-G-81, college: Georgia). Gibson will fill the void left by DeMarcus Nelsons call-up to Chicago. The former University of Georgia Wide Receiver was a valuable role player for the T-Birds prior to being waived on Feb. 27. In 30 games this season, the 6-4 guard is averaging 5.0 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 55.0% from the field.

Iowa: Looking to add some veteran leadership and scoring punch off the bench, the Iowa Energy have signed Jeff Trepagnier (6'4''-G-79, college: USC) and released JamesOn Curry (6'4''-G-86, college: Oklahoma St.). The former USC standout has played for Bakersfield and Rio Grande Valley this season. In 36 games for the Jam he averaged 10.9 points and 2.8 rebounds while in nine games for the Vipers, averaged 8.3 points and 1.3 rebounds. Curry, the former Chicago Bulls draftee, appeared in 16 games for the Energy, averaging 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 43.3% from the field.
