Los Angeles: Acquired 12-year NBA veteran Othella Harrington (6'10''-C/F-74, college: Georgetown) and waived Duane Erwin (6'9''-F-82, college: Memphis) due to injury. Harrington, a 6-9, 235-pound forward out of Georgetown has played with the Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls, New York Kicks, Vancouver Grizzlies and Houston Rockets in his NBA career. Last season he appeared in 22 games with the Bobcats and averaged 2.1 points, 1.9 rebounds in 7.5 minutes and shot .429 from the field. He has played in 709 games (263 starts) over his NBA career averaging 7.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and shot .505 from the field. Erwin played in 12 games (eight starts) for the D-Fenders this season where he averaged 8.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 blocks in 26.0 minutes.
Iowa: Re-acquired second year swingman Demetris Nichols (6'8''-F-84, college: Syracuse) and waived Jamaal Moore (6'6''-F-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza, college: Rice). Nichols, whose 10-day contract with the New York Knicks was not renewed, re-joined the Iowa last night and dropped a team high 33 points in their 109-107 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. With New York, the former Syracuse star appeared in two games and averaged 2.5 points. He has appeared in 15 career NBA games with Chicago (13) and New York (2) since entering the league as the 53rdpick of the 2007 NBA Draft by Portland. With the Energy, Nichols has appeared in 12 games (nine starts) and is averaging 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 50.0% from the field. Jamaal Moore appeared in eight games for the Energy since being acquired on Feb. 18th, and averaged 2,8 points and 1.3 rebounds.
Dakota: Signed David Monds (6'9''-F-83, college: Oklahoma St.). Monds, who was enjoying a very good season with Albuquerque prior to being waived on March 11 due to injury. Though Monds last played on February 26th when he sustained the injury, he will be a welcome addition to the Wizards frontcourt. In 30 games with the T-Birds, the former Oklahoma State product averaged 13.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks while shooting 56.6% from the field.
