Erie BayHawks acquire Beau Beech

He was selected by Erie in the 2017 G League Expansion Draft

ERIE, PA – The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, announced today the acquisition of forward Beau Beech. Erie selected Beech in the eighth round of the 2017 NBA G League Expansion Draft, on August 23. With the addition of Beech, Erie’s roster now stands at 12, including both Atlanta Hawks Two-Way players.

Beech (6-9, 215) suited up for the Long Island Nets during the 2016-17 season. In 36 games (12 starts), he averaged 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 19.3 minutes of play. After going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, Beech played in five games at the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League with the Brooklyn Nets. On July 25, 2016, he signed a contract with the Brooklyn Nets. Beech was placed on waivers on October 18, 2016, after appearing in one preseason game with the Nets.

The 2016 University of North Florida grad appeared in 133 games (129 starts) for the Ospreys over his four-year collegiate career, averaging 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 28.7 minutes. Beech is the program’s all-time leader in games played (133) and games started (129). He’s also the program’s all-time leader in steals (147) and tied for made three-pointers (302). Beech became the first player in UNF history to surpass 1,500 points (1,557 total) and 500 rebounds (672 total).
