87ers acquire Gary Talton, Rodney Carney in three-team deal

In a three-team trade, the Delaware 87ers today acquired the rights to Gary Talton from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, in exchange for the rights to Gideon Gamble and the 87ers 2016 second round NBA D-Leauge Draft pick. Additionally, the 87ers acquired the rights to Rodney Carney and a 2016 second round NBA D-League Draft pick from the Oklahoma City Blue, in exchange for the rights to J.P. Tokoto.
A 6-foot-1, 163 pound point guard, Talton averaged 13.0 points, 8.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 44 games for both the Fort Wayne, where he ended the season, and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Talton ranked No. 3 in the D-League in assists per game last year, and sported a 2.62 assist-to-turnover ratio.
A first round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Carney spent three of his first four seasons in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers. The 6-foot-7, 205 pound forward averaged 6.0 points and 2.0 rebounds over 299 games in his NBA career after a standout career at the University of Memphis.
