BayHawks Acquire Austin Daye
He'll play in D-League
The Erie BayHawks today announced forward Austin Daye (6-11, 220, Gonzaga) has been acquired and activated via the waiver wire. Joe Crawford has been deactivated after appearing in four games.
Daye was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 15th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. During his fourth season with Detroit, he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies and eventually spent time with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors before eventually landing back in San Antonio in February of 2014. Daye was later assigned to San Antonio’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Austin Toros, and scored 27 points in his lone D-League game. He was recalled a day later and played six minutes in the Spurs’ playoff run en route to an NBA Championship. Daye was waived by the Spurs January 17.
