Blue Acquires Chris Singleton

The Oklahoma City Blue has acquired NBA-veteran forward Chris Singleton off of waivers, the team announced today.

Singleton (6-9, 228) averaged 4.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 17.6 minutes in 148 games (62 starts) with the Washington Wizards (2011-2014). The forward scored in double figures on 18 occasions over his three NBA seasons and became the first Washington player since the 1981-82 season to appear in every regular season game as a rookie.

Singleton spent the 2014 training camp with the Indiana Pacers before joining the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association. In 17 games (15 starts) with Jiangsu, he averaged 22.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.9 blocks in 38.1 minutes.

A native of Canton, Ga., Singleton was unanimously named the 2011 ACC Defensive Player of the Year during his junior season at Florida State. A two-time All-ACC and two-time ACC Defensive Team selection (2009-10 and 2010-11), Singleton averaged 10.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.9 steals, 1.4 blocks and 29.0 minutes in 94 career games (90 starts) with the Seminoles.
