The Delaware 87ers today announced the team has acquired the returning player rights to Maalik Wayns in a trade with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, in exchange for the returning player rights to Hamady Ndiaye.
A Philly native, Wayns is a two-year NBA vet, having played with the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers over the past three seasons. The 6-foot-1 point guard played in 11 games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the 2013-14 season, where he averaged 12.3 points and 4.2 assists in 20.1 minutes.
