Justin Hamilton named defensive player of the year in D-League
He received the award
Justin Hamilton has been named D-League Digest’s Defensive Player of the Year. Hamilton posted impressive totals this season as a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce, which helped the 7-footer earn a pair of NBA Call-Ups (Charlotte Bobcats, Miami HEAT).
Hamilton led the Skyforce to the top spot in defensive rating this season, along with fellow guard DeAndre Liggins (another strong DPOY consideration), the duo made it incredibly difficult for opponents to break the century mark. However, it was Hamilton who clogged the lane and altered any shot that came his way. The man in the mask (for most of the season), averaged 2.0 blocks per game, fourth overall in the NBA D-League.
