Gran Canaria signs Chris Evans
The deal is official
Chris Evans (Virginia, 1991) is the latest addition for Herbalife Gran Canaria roster. Evans, a 27-years-old forward, spent last season in French team AS Monaco.
After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft, Evans joined Aries Trikala of the Greek Basket League. With Trikala, he was the second best scorer and the fourth best rebounder of the league. During his rookie season with Trikala, he averaged 16.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
The following year he played for Pallacanestro Trapani and Scafati Basket in Italy, but he was not able to make himself a name there. He had another rough year the following season, playing in Israel por Hapoel Tel-Aviv and Ironi Nahariya.
During 2016-17 season he joined Canton Charge in the United States before going to Argentina to play with Gimnasia Comodoro.
Last summer, he joined AS Monaco. There, he was able to show what he’s made of. He averaged 13 points and 4,1 rebounds in the French LNB and 13,3 points and 4,5 rebounds in FIBA Champions League, with his Monaco team getting to the Final Four.
Evans, a 203 cms forward with a huge leap and great athleticism, joins Herbalife Gran Canaria for its EuroLeague debut season.
