Herbalife Gran Canaria adds Salva Maldonado as new head coach
The Catalan head coach returns to the island where he spent four seasons
Salvador Maldonado Ruiz (1959, Barcelona) will be the head coach of Herbalife Gran Canaria for the next season. The coach had already been in the team between 2005 and 2009. Now, he is back after his last two campaigns in Movistar Estudiantes.
Maldonado has led seven different teams in ACB, including Herbalife Gran Canaria. Right now he is in the sixth place in Liga Endesa with more than 600 games coached. Moreover, he overcame 300 wins in the Spanish League this season, a milestone that only five other coaches have reached.
