Spain's Sergio Llull will miss Eurobasket with ACL rupture
The Spanish guard suffered a serious knee injury
The 2016-17 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP, Real Madrid's Sergio Llull, will be sidelined between seven and nine months dues to a severe injury in his knee ligaments. Llull (1.90 meters, 29 years old) suffered the injury while preparing the EuroBasket with the Spanish national team in a friendly game against Belgium on Wednesday. Therefore, Llull will miss the EuroBasket tournament as well as most of the EuroLeague regular season, since the most optimistic predictions would have him back on the courts by March 2018. Llull has consistently been one of the best players in the continent in the last decade, and that culminated last season as he was named to the All-EuroLeague First Team and was also named MVP of the season, in which he averaged 16.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 5.9 assists, taking Real Madrid to the Istanbul Final Four.
