Kyle Kuric re-signs with Gran Canaria
The deal is official
7DAYS EuroCup semifinalist Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas announced that fan-favorite Kyle Kuric will return to the club for a third season. Kuric (1.93 meters, 27 years old) missed the majority of last season after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor. He started the season averaging 14.7 points on 54.5% three-point shooting as Gran Canaria won its first three EuroCup games before being diagnosed. However, Kuric made a remarkable recovery to play in the Spanish playoffs and became one of the feel-good stories of the season. He first arrived to the club in the summer of 2014 and that season averaged 13.8 points on 46.2% three-point shooting in earning All-EuroCup Second Team honors, while helping Gran Canaria reach the EuroCup Finals. Before playing with Gran Canaria, Kuric started his pro career with Estudiantes Madrid of Spain after a college basketball career at the University of Louisville. He helped the Cardinals win the Big East Tournament title in both 2009 and 2012 and reach the 2012 NCAA Tournament Final Four.
