Barça, Real Madrid and Baskonia ready to abandon ACB if league doesn't reduce the teams?
Barça, Real Madrid and Baskonia are the three Spanish teams with a 10-year license in the new Euroleague
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Baskonia would be ready to abandon Liga Endesa if the top Spanish league won’t reduce the number of participants and games, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
The three Spanish giants are among the 11 teams with a 10-year license in the new proposed Euroleague format. With the new Euroleague, each team will play at least 30 games that can be 35 or 37 in case of quarterfinals or Final Four.
ACB has 18 teams but the tree big wants the league to cut the number of teams to 16 or 14.
If Real Madrid, Barcelona or Baskonia reach the finals in each competition they play (with the new Euroleague format), they would play more than 90 games in a single season.
