Valencia Basket to get Euroleague wild card for the next two seasons?

Valencia would be the fifth team in Euroleague from next season

ACB

Valencia Basket will get a two-year license to play in Euroleague starting from next season even if they will not win Eurocup or Liga ACB, according to Encestando.

The Spanish team will be awarded by Euroleague for its results in Europe and with the promise to build a 12.000 seats arena soon.

Valencia would be the fifth Spanish team in Euroleague after Baskonia, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Unicaja Malaga, all with A License.

It is not possible for a country to have five teams with A License so Euroleague decided to adopt this wild card formula to give Valencia the chance to play in the main European competition.

If Valencia makes the ACB Finals, Unicaja Malaga will lose its A License, according to the competition rules.
