Huge chance for Andrew Bogut to play for Sidney Kings during lockout
La copertura assicurativa è il più grande ostacolo al momento
Sydney Kings are a "huge chance" to sign NBA superstar Andrew Bogut, after the Milwaukee Bucks centre flew into Sydney on Monday to meet club officials. The $500,000 insurance premium to cover his $40 million three-year NBA deal remains the biggest hurdle to his signing, but Bogut, 26, said the chance to help grow the Kings brand was appealing as he prepared to talk with Adelaide 36ers and Gold Coast Blaze later in the week. "It is obviously a unique market and the Kings are an icon brand here in Sydney, so Sydney's definitely a huge chance," Bogut said after meeting Kings general manager David Wolf and the board. "The insurance is the No.1 thing at the moment. "It's definitely an option. "There's three teams all up: Adelaide, Sydney and Gold Coast. "Still the main hurdle at the moment is the insurance. "Once we get a bit more information in the next two to three days, we can sit down and make a decision." Bogut confirmed he was not considering clubs in Europe despite some big money offers for him to play there until the NBA lockout ends.
