The end of the Wollongong Hawks
Un pezzo di storia di basket australiano potrebbe finire al termine di questa stagione
One of the historical clubs of Australian basketball is nearing its end. The Wollongong Hawks, the only remaining team from the founding clubs of the NBL 31 years ago will not take part in next season. The 2009-2010 NBL season will have financial requirements which according to the Hawks president Richard Clifford the club will not be able to meet, others being also in difficult situations to comply with the new limitations.
The Hawks' only title remains being the one achieved in 2001 and the team is currently 7th with 11 wins and 19 losses, thus being out of the playoffs if the season were to end now.
