Sydney Kings land Damion James
James inks in Australia to replace the injured Josh Childress
The MightyMite Sydney Kings today announced the signing of Damion James as an injury replacement player for Josh Childress.
The organisation acted swiftly after it was confirmed that Childress fractured a finger on his left hand during Friday’s loss to Cairns and will be sidelined for up to four weeks.
Standing at 201cm (6’7”) and 102kg (225lbs), James is a powerful combo-forward who can play both the small forward and power forward position.
Sydney Kings Head of Basketball Operations Tim Hudson is confident that James’ versatility and skillset will be a strong compliment to the team.
“Damion adds a new dynamic to the Kings’ roster. Along with his versatility he brings toughness and valuable experience to the team at a critical time” said Hudson.
“He is a team-first guy that has a reputation of being an excellent rebounder and defender and with the next two games against arguably the most physical teams in the league, these attributes will be well welcomed.”
