Brock Motum signs with Adelaide 36ers
The Australian returns home
The Adelaide 36ers have pulled off a major recruiting coup by signing recently delisted Utah Jazz player Brock Motum.
Motum, 24, was born in Brisbane and was part of the recent Australian Boomers team that competed at the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain.
The 208cm (6’ 10”) power forward played his college basketball at Washington State University where he scored 1,530 points (12.8 per games) placing him 5th in the school’s all-time scoring list. In his senior year he averaged 18.7ppg and was named in the second All Pac-12 team.
In July 2014, Motum joined Utah Jazz for the 2014 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. On August 26, 2014, he signed with the Jazz. However, he was later waived by the Jazz on October 25, 2014.
The addition of Motum certainly makes the 36ers line-up stronger “Brock is a quality player and quality person he will certainly make us a tougher team.” said Joey Wright. "To be 3 and 2 and sitting in second place and then add Brock to the line up, it's a big bonus."
"I'm really looking forward to playing for the 36ers and in the NBL" said Motum "I have a lot of respect for Joey and I'm good mates with Teysy, so I can't wait to suit up on Sunday."
Motum has signed a conditional contract for the balance of this season and the 2015/16 NBL Season.
Brock will suit for the Sixers when they take on the Kings in Sydney on Sunday 9 November.
