Josh Childress suspended one game and fined $7.5k by NBL
Josh Childress publicly apologised and expressed remorse for his actions
The National Basketball League charged Sydney Kings player Josh Childress over an alleged strike on Perth Wildcats player Jesse Wagstaff at the Perth Arena on Friday 24 October 2014.
The charges leveled against Childress were heard by an independent tribunal this evening and Childress entered a plea of guilty for unduly rough play and bringing the game into disrepute which was accepted.
The independent tribunal decided that Childress will receive an immediate one game suspension and will not be able to play in the Cairns Taipans v Sydney Kings game on Saturday 1 November 2014.
He was also fined $3,750 and has a one game suspended sentence for the remainder of the 2014/15 NBL Season if Childress reoffends.
For bringing the game into disrepute Childress was fined an additional $3,750.
