The Brisbane Bullets are welcoming back import guard Stephen Holt for the 2018/19 season after he debuted for the Queensland Club in #NBL18.

In his first season with Brisbane, Holt averaged 9.8 points, 3.1 rebounds on 36.5% shooting from three.

Holt is currently playing finals in Poland with BM Slam Stal, but jumped at the opportunity to re-join the Bullets in a revised role from his previous season with the Club.

“Steve was a great fit with us as a club both on and off the court, I think he will be more comfortable playing in a ball handling role this season than the role he took on last season. When he talked to Andrej he was excited about playing more as a point guard, he feels he can contribute more in that role. Steve has high basketball IQ and already knows Andrej’s system, and he is also a high quality person so we are excited to have him coming back." said Boomers and Bullets Assistant Coach Andrej Lemanis.

Holt will arrive back in Brisbane early August and is excited to be playing in more of a point guard role this season.

“I’m definitely ready to be more of a playmaker this season. I had honest conversations with the staff at the end of the season on how I felt I could have given more to the group. I’m looking forward to making those adjustments and helping this team win as many games as possible.

The Bullets have also announced the release of Tom Fullarton from his contract at the player’s request. Fullarton informed Head Coach Andrej Lemanis he wished to pursue opportunities within AFL and requested an immediate release from his contract, which the Club has agreed to.

The 200cm-tall small forward came through Queensland and Australian under-age representative teams as well as the AIS-Centre of Excellence in Canberra and joined the Bullets as a development player for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 NBL seasons and was to move into the main roster on a two-year contract from the 2018-19 season with an option for an additional season.
