EuroBasket 2015: Draw Seedings Announced
The draw which will take place in Disneyland, Paris on 8 December
FIBA Europe has released the seedings for the EuroBasket 2015 draw which will take place in Disneyland, Paris on 8 December.
The 24 qualified teams will be drawn into four Group Phase groups of six teams each.
According to the FIBA Europe regulations the participating nations are seeded based on their record in the latest EuroBasket final tournament or EuroBasket Qualification Round.
The Seedings:
1. FRANCE, LITHUANIA, SPAIN, CROATIA
2. SLOVENIA, UKRAINE, SERBIA, FINLAND
3. GREECE, TURKEY, LATVIA, BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA
4. POLAND, BELGIUM, F.Y.R. OF MACEDONIA, ITALY
5. GERMANY, ISRAEL, CZECH REPUBLIC, GEORGIA
6. NETHERLANDS, RUSSIA, ICELAND, ESTONIA
Details about the draw procedure will be released next week. The ceremony on 8 December will start at 16:00 CET and the draw will be streamed live on the FIBA YouTube channel.
ABOUT EUROBASKET 2015
EuroBasket 2015 will be organised in four countries - Croatia (Zagreb), France (Montpellier and Lille), Germany (Berlin), and Latvia (Riga), for the first time in history.
The Group Phase will take place between 5-11 September with the Final Phase scheduled for 12-20 September in Lille.
