EuroBasket 2017 Group A: Slovenia, Finland, France and Greece go to Istanbul

Slovenia ends perfect in 1st position, Greece wins the decisive game for the 4th place vs Poland, Iceland closes with no wins

Undefeated Slovenia topped Group A after thrashing a disappointing France, who tumbled to third and will meet Germany in the Round of 16.
After a tight opening quarter, Goran Dragic and Luka Doncic dominated the second period to blow the margin out to 17 points at half-time. Slovenia eventually cruised to a 95-78 victory. Dragic had 22 points and 8 assists, while Doncic had 15 points and 9 rebounds.
France was led by Nando de Colo's 16 points, while star Evan Fournier was ejected in the fourth quarter after fouling out and receiving his second technical foul.



Greece are through to the Final Phase with a 95-77 victory over Poland in a Group A knockout game. Greece now plays Group B winner Lithuania in the Round of 16, while Poland's campaign has ended.
In a see-sawing game, Greece took control in the last quarter by outscoring Poland 25-10 to ensure their ticket to Istanbul. Nick Calathes starred with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Kostas Sloukas had 26 points for the hot-shooting Greece.
Damian Kulig played well for Poland with 26 points and 7 rebounds.



Finland closes the group A in Helsinki with the comeback win 83-79 against Iceland, in the amazing atmosphere of the Hartwall Arena for the Scandinavian derby.
The team of coach Dettmann will face Italy in the eight-finals thanks to the second place in the group, for Iceland not enough the efforts in the last quarter to reach the first historical win at EuroBasket.
Markkanen shines again with 23 points, important also the 17 points for Salin. Five players in double digit for the great performance of the Icelandic team.
