EuroBasket 2017 Group C: Spain, Croatia remain undefeated, first W for Hungary
The results of the third day in Cluj Napoca
Hungary conquered the first victory in the tournament against Czech Republic led by a remarkable Adam Hanga. The new Barcelona player came close to a triple-double with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, shooting 6-9 from beyond the arc. Hungary did a good job by keeping a double-digit advantage for almost the entire game and won 85-73. For Czech Republic, Washington Wizards point guard Tomas Satoransky had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists but also 6 turnovers.
Croatia remains undefeated in group C as the team won against Montenegro. Led by Bojan Bogdanovic and Dario Saric, Croatia closed the first half up 12 points (43-31). Tyrece Rice (22 points) and Bojan Dubljevic (17 points, 11 rebounds) tried to keep Montenegro in the game but the Croatia rejected their comeback attempt and got a 76-72 victory. Washington Wizards guard Bojan Bogdanovic led all scorers with 23 points and 6 rebounds.
Croatia is not alone at the top of group C as Spain had no problems in taking a 41-point victory against Romania (91-50) even without Pau Gasol and Alex Abrines (rest). Denver Nuggets forward Juancho Hernangomez stood out with a 18-point, 12-rebound performance, while his brother Willy went close to a double-double with 9 points and 13 rebounds. Marc Gasol, Sastre, and Pierre Oriola went in double digits as well, while Romanian power forward Vlad Moldoveanu had 15 points.
