Mindaugas Kuzminskas: The results are disappointing so far, but I see a lot of potential in Milan

Mindaugas Kuzminskas explained his decision to sign with Olimpia Milano.
The Lithuanian forward penned a deal through June 2019 with an NBA out for next summer.

When Kuzminskas took Olimpia Milano offer, many Zalgiris fans attacked him on Facebook with messages like 'get injury' or 'never play for the National Team again'. Last week he was awarded as the most favorite athlete in Lithuania. 'Now I'm the enemy of the nation,' he laughs

Kuzminskas on Milano move: 'They offered me the most suitable conditions. Firstly, they gave me a contract not just till the summer, but for the next season too. Pianigiani sees me in a role like in Lithuania National Team, where I played as a 3 and 4'

Before accepting Milano offer, Kuzminskas talked with at least 20 people about the situation in Olimpia, mostly with Mantas Kalnietis. 'The results are disappointing so far, but I see a lot of potential and after the conversation with Pianigiani I believe everything will be fine'

Kuzminskas told he almost signed with another NBA team after he left Knicks but he didn't because of some circumstances. He got 2-way deal offer but didn't want to be thrown between NBA and D League. Kuzminskas hopes to come back to the NBA in future: 'I believe I can play there'
