Olimpia Milano officially signs Arturas Gudaitis
The big man moves to Italy
Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano agreed on terms with the Lithuanian center Arturas Gudaitis, 2.11, 115 kg, coming from Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius.
WHO’S GUDAITIS – Born in Klaipeda, on June 19, 1993, Gudaitis started to play the game in his native Klaipeda before being recruited by Zalgiris Kaunas where he made his first-team debut in 2013. During that season he had a breakout EuroLeague game against Lokomotiv Kuban. He scored 14 points and grabbed six boards. During the 2014/15 EuroLeague season he averaged 6.5 points per game to go with 4.0 rebounds. In 2015 he left Kauns and signed for Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius. During the last season he averaged 11.4 points per game, with 6.6 rebounds while making 57.3 percent of his shots and blocking 49 shots in 41 games. He also played the Eurocup averaging 13.2 points per game, 8.2 rebounds and 1.89 blocks per game. He also shot 52.9 percent from the field and 70.3 percent from the line. At the end of the Eurocup regular season he was first in blocks, offensive rebounds, fouls drawn, free throws made and attempted.
NOTES – Gudaitis won the Lithuanin championship with Zalgiris in 2014 and 2015, he also won the Lithuanian Cup in 2016 with Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius. He played the 2017 Eurobasket with his National Team. In 2015 he was drafted by the NBA’ s Philadelphia 76ers with the number 47 and eventually traded to Sacramento.
