Zoki Dragic Is Back. In February, he suffered a catastrophic injury that closed his season several months earlier, then the long and tiring road to recovery. He’s almost there now. He resumed working full time with the team this week. Here is his confession to Olimpia Milano Tv.
His physical conditions – “At the moment I would say I’m at 80 percent more or less. I need another month to be completely recovered, but I’m working on that.”
The injury – “For me it was tough especially in the beginning because I had never had a serious injury like this before, but what can I say? This is basketball and these things happen. Now I’m glad I put this injury behind me. It made me tougher mentally and also physically. “
The consequences – “First of all I’m sorry that the injury kept me from helping the team and my teammates here at Olimpia. Then I had to say no to the National Team in one year when with Luka Doncic and Anthony Randolph we have a really good team, but what can I do? Like I said injuuries are part of the game. I wish them the best, I will watch them from the tv set”.
Expectations – “I want to help the team as much as I can and in general I hope we can play better, compete in the EuroLeague and of course win the Italian League championship because we deserve it.”
What, if he did not get injured – “I do not know what would happen, I would certainly give it all to help the team win. I had good feelings after winning the Coppa Italia, and usually those are good feelings to have. I hope to feel them again this season.”
The EuroLeague – “We have to compete, play hard, there are so many new guys so it’s important to establish a connection, build the team like it’s family and practice hard. It’s about playing like we are capable to play”.
