Reyer Venezia freed Julyan Stone only for next season
Venezia president: "At the end of next season we’ll discuss with him what to do of his second year of contract with us"
Julyan Stone has been released by Reyer Venezia and allowed by the Italian champions to sign in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets.
Stone will sign a two-year contract with Charlotte but according to Venezia president, Federico Casarin, Stone has been freed only for one season.
Stone had signed a two-year contract extension with Venezia early in July.
“There was a negotiation. We have reached an agreement and we are freeing him only for next season” Casarin told newspaper La Nuova. “It is not an escape added in the contract (Stone did not have any opt out clause in his deal with Venezia). At the end of next season we’ll discuss with him what to do of his second year of contract with us” Casarin added.
