Olimpia Milano officially signs Amath M'Baye
The forward comes from Brindisi
Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milan agreed on terms with Amath M’Baye, coming from New Basket Brindisi. M’Baye is a 2.06 forward, 100 kg, of French nationality.
WHO’S M’BAYE – Born on December, 14, 1989 in Bordeaux, France, Amath M’Baye is of Senegalese origins. He moved to the US in 2008 to attend the Stoneridge Prep School in the Simi Valley, Los Angeles. In 2009 he attended Wyoming University (5.6 ppg, e 3.2 rpg in his freshman year), conquering a starting lineup spot (31 games started out of 31) in his second season when he averaged 12.0 points per game with 5.7 rebounds. In the summer of 2011 he transferred to Oklahoma and had to sit out one year. During the 2012/13 season he averaged 10.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He was named in the All-Big 12 Conference third team. He declared for the 2013 NBA draft but he wasn’t selected. His pro career started in Japan where he stayed for three seasons, playing in Nagoya. He was the 2014/15 Japenese League’s MVP. During his three season, M’Baye averaged 20.2 points per game and 7.7 rebounds. In his first Italian season in Brindisi he averaged 17.8 points per game (fifth overall) and 5.3 rebounds.
