There are five names for the future head coach of Olimpia Milano, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport and other media
Jasmin Repesa won’t remain as head coach despite one year left on his contract. And Milano is searching for a new head coach.
The five names are:
David Blatt: the former Cavaliers head coach has one year remaining on his contract with Darussafaka Dogus but he won’t remain with the Turkish powerhouse that won’t play in EuroLeague next season. Blatt is targeted by Maccabi Tel Aviv and Barcelona and may be an option for CSKA Moscow if they part ways with Itoudis.
Joan Plaza: the head coach of Unicaja Malaga won the EuroCup this season. But so far there were no contacts between the two sides, a source told Sportando.
Simone Pianigiani: EA7 president Livio Proli has a great esteem of the Italian coach. Pianigiani won everything in Italy with Montepaschi Siena, coached the Italian National Team and now is at the helm of Hapoel Jerusalem. Pianigiani has one year remaining on his contract with Hapoel.
Pablo Laso: the Spanish coach won everything with Real Madrid. He may leave after this season and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he was offered to Milano. Laso has a contract for next season but Real Madrid has an option to opt out after the season. Laso started to check his option if Real Madrid will decide to part ways.
Massimo Cancellieri. The assistant coach of Banchi and Repesa in the last few years. He can be an option if Milano decides for the internal coach
