Italian clubs want a third spot in next EuroCup
The Italian teams will play in the Cups according to sports merit and criteria. EuroCup voted by Serie a Teams as second most important Cup after EuroLeague
The Italian clubs will compete in EuroCup next season after a season out of the competition due to the “war” between ECA and FIBA.
EuroCup already assigned two spots to the Italian teams for next EuroCup campaign but the Serie A clubs want a third spot.
Legabasket president, Egidio Bianchi, will negotiate with EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu to obtain a third spot in the second ECA cup.
Italians will also have three spots in the Basketball Champions League.
The Italian teams will play in the European cups according to sports criteria and Lega Basket teams voted that EuroCup is more important than Basketball Champions League.
With this decision, the two Serie A finalists will go to EuroCup (or the finalist and the semifinalist if one of the two title contenders will be Olimpia Milano with a multi-year license in EuroLeague).
