Petrucci says FIP won't allow Serie A teams to have rosters with 7 foreigners and only 5 Italians
Petrucci spoke also about the Cups for next season: I am working to find an agreement with Baumann
Italian Basketball Federation president Gianni Petrucci said that he is in talks with FIBA’s Patrick Baumann to reach an agreement for next season to let Italian clubs play in EuroCup.
Petrucci spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport about the proposal made by Legabasket to have rosters with seven foreigners and five Italians starting from next season.
“To propose seven foreigners mean that you want us to say NO. The proposal is inadmissible. We have interesting proposals to submit to Legabasket, shared with Ettore Messina. I cannot anticipate anything about it” Petrucci said.
Gianni Petrucci talked also about Ryan Arcidiacono. The Federation is trying to help him to get the Italian passport but it won’t be easy.
“It is not easy at all but we won’t give up” Petucci said.
