Paris Bass and Nika Darbaidze joined Pallacanestro Reggiana Training camp.
The Italian club may sign Paris Bass to a contract, as reported by Baskettime.
Bass comes from Detroit Mercy where he averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds in his second year with the school before being removed from the program for academic issues.
Per Detroit Free Press, The biggest loss is Bass, a third-year sophomore who was an All-Horizon League player the last two years. The 6-foot-8 swingman missed the first eight games of the season because of a suspension. The reason for the suspension wasn’t made public by the school.
During the Horizon League tournament at Joe Louis Arena, he missed curfew at the team’s hotel the night before the team’s first-round game and was brought off the bench. He also was a sub in the team’s final game of the season, against Wright State, scoring 24 points.
He had a verbal sparring match with then-coach Ray McCallum during the game and indicated that he might leave the program.
Class-attendance issues caused him to fall behind in his work, according to a source at the school, and his eligibility in the fall would have been an issue even if he had stayed.
