Lacey turned down a 3-year proposal made by Milano to sign a one-year deal with Sassari
Lacey will be the next player set to be announced by Sassari
Trevor Lacey signed a contract with Dinamo Sassari but he turned down a three-year proposal made by Olimpia Milano, according to Victoria Libertas Pesaro president Ario Costa.
Milano had offered a three-year contract to Lacey and they would have sent him on loan to Pesaro next season bringing him in the team from 2017-2018.
Lacey turned down the offer and decided to accept the single season contract offered by Dinamo Sassari.
"Milano offered Lacey a three-year contract. They would have loaned him to Pesaro the first season and then he would have returned to Milano with the chance to play in Euroleague with a salary bigger. We were close but then he turned down the offer saying that he wanted to be free agent at the end of next season to decide his future" Costa told Il Resto del Carlino. "We were surprised because he won't earn more money in Sassari. I respect his decision but I don't understand it" Costa added.
